COFRA Think Tank III

This is an invitation to join the Coalition of Fat Rights Activists, as well as a call for participation in our upcoming Think Tank III. The mission of COFRA is to “to establish and defend equal rights and opportunities for all people regardless of weight or body size.” COFRA is still in the development stages, and our president is Paul McAleer of Big Fat Blog.

We are holding Think Tanks quarterly in Chicago. The next Think Tank is June 21st & 22nd. This will be the first two-day Think Tank. It will include two mini-workshops and a time to film Dare To Show Your Face videos (a project begun at our last Think Tank), on top of our usual organizational business. Paul will host a workshop called Working with the Media, and Virginia Dicken and Mychii Null will be hosting Fat Intersections: Finding Direction, Honoring Connection.

Due to policies of the Harold Washington Library, The Think Tank is only open to members of COFRA or Big Fat Blog. In other words, you must become a member in order to attend—and the more fat activists the merrier! To RSVP or inquire further, please e-mail paul@bigfatblog.com.

What: COFRA/BFB Think Tank III
When: June 21st & 22nd, 2008
Where: Chicago’s Harold Washington Library

If you can’t come (I know this is late notice), our Dare to Show Your Face video project is ongoing. I have heard that many people have videos in the works. I’m going to try to get mine up by the Think Tank.

Finally, here’s our fabulous Carrie encouraging you to attend. She’s coming all the way from Portland!!!
